DVDs may soon join VHS as the old standard. A single-layer Blu-ray Disc can hold 25GB. That's more than five times the capacity of a standard DVD that holds 4.7GB. There are also dual-layer versions of the discs that hold 50GB.
DVD's have become a growing force in the movie industry after taking over for VHS as the majority of total sales. Better quality, extra features and special editions have made DVDs more appealing than VHS to just about everyone. DVDs are used for games, entire seasons of popular television series, documentaries, movies, music videos, media recording and storage. Currently, the various uses of DVDs makes them the first choice. Still, new technology threatens to overcome DVDs.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now.
